Description

The so called 'Friedrich-August-Weg' is a famous and wonderful path along the south faces of the Langkofel/Sasso Lungo-range. We arrived at Sellajoch / Passo di Sella early morning (09.00 hr). Blue skies all over but very windy and freezing cold. Because of the wind and the low temperature we were in doubt about what to do: carry on or return to base. We walked over to Rodella-Joch / Forcella Rodella. On this 20 minute-trip I took a few pictures which resulted in frozen fingers (due to the icy wind). To our surprise there was almost no wind on the other side of the pass. So we decided to carry on (the best decision of our holidays). If you ever visit this region be sure to walk this path, because it offers breathtaking and spectacular views. In the middle of the picture you'll notice Zahnkofel/Il Dente, which roughly translates as Tooth Peak. I guess you'll understand...
