Description
A quick post to announce the return home, hope to make the rounds this evening. Thanks to all the safe trip wishes.
First a bit of the trek to come. The lone teepee in the foreground below marks the line I will take towards the small group of teepees to the right of the massive teepee grouping, center image. Once at the small grouping I'll have to continue down grade and swing around into the wash, following it between the mesa to the right and the massive teepee grouping on the left.
What I didn't know standing here taking this image was that this little section of my "Cottonwood cove" trek would reveal an area much like the "Wave", but more vivid in color. And that massive teepee formation center image, is the most impressive natural amphitheater I have ever seen! For those that have viewed my Nikon 35mm series on the "Wave", it makes the ones atop "Top rock mesa" look insignificant in comparison. The white sandstone mesa in the left BG of this image is "Top Rock", an approximate 6 miles(13kilometers) away.
To the kind souls that leave their mark whether a comment, rating, or save the image as a fav, you are very much appreciated, thank you!!!
Thank you all that viewed the last image below.

We know it is real once seen large, but it looks like discarded potters clay in the small pic. You are so lucky to be able to photograph and see this all at first hand. Thanks for sharing with us:-)

You and I both love this part of the world. Your works inspired me to digitize a bunch of my old slides from when I worked this land. Wow, you really capture the sense of space here. The lovely red rock country with all its swirls of color and this part all created by ancient winds of the Triassic. My goodness, and how the wind can still blow here 400 million years later.
