Kailash, the moon of SOLARIS
Episode 1: first contacts
Team Commander's our mother ship at the outset of Kailash, held a conference restricted to decide and organize the shipment of a module explorer, accompanied by a small crew. Different members of this expedition were described and presented during this meeting.
Belarus martial, a military captain, and determined go-getter, thirty years, one of Key officers of the Mothership.
Capricia TerraNova, deputy commander of the shuttle, a woman in her sixties, a specialist in mineralogy, and planetary science. It is the source of the new Solaris project.
Jovian Mercator, a very brilliant scientist in various disciplines, 45, physically impressive, very observant. It is universally recognized as an authority on extra-planetary worlds.
Venera Mulieren, a biologist and exo-biologist, 30 years, specializing in flora Venus.
Robert and Aurelie Bomport gifted twins, 18.
Aurélie is the young telepath. Very good at languages and can telepathically with animals mammals
Robert, the boy has a tele-photographic image retention and knows where he is, his first visit ... a sort of tele-recognition, however a fairly short range.
Juliette LeCrabe, physician and botanist, 25 ... author of a scholarly book on the exotic plants of outer worlds.
At the end of the induction meeting, the new crew joined his exploration module, with one goal, to reach a suitable place before dark, on Kailash.
The first hour of the journey to Kailash, did indeed go well, and the crew while monitoring the monitors, felt really relaxed. There was only one hour of travel to reach a landing site, not too far from the site already identified, the Channel Shan-Pii, anticipated location of exploration well to study the satellite itself, as well as unexplained phenomena of Solaris.
Penetration of the atmosphere of Kailash seemed to be going smoothly, a positive omen for the expedition, when suddenly a light began to flash on the panel that oversaw Capricia ... then an alarm sounded in the cockpit, while Robert, hastened to put out the deafening noise despite the space helmet, cutting the sound.
Clarification from Capricia, allowed the commander immediately Martial, to understand the problem of security of the ship: a mysterious force of attraction seemed to have taken hold of the module, then paralyzing its operational independence! A kind of sophisticated guidance did not allow the craft, but to move laterally, but not climb into a tunnel invisible energy ... the team was guided by constraints unknown to attérissage opposite Channel originally planned site.

The shuttle went well guided in the direction of the power source detected by scanners. They arrived at the base of a plate partially covered by high dunes where grew a kind of giant carrots, changing colors.
The energy source now very bright, showing its strange shape from those of surrounding plants and crystals, close to a relatively flat surface between two dunes and clear ...
At five feet above the ground, latched Capricia thrust reversers, which aroused so little clouds of sand, temporarily masking objects shots of Juliet and Venera. Finally, the installation of the machine became very smooth.
The atmosphere inside the explorer again became relaxed, the last seconds of the landing, however, seemed very long!

Les différents membres de cette expédition furent désignés et présentés au cours de cette réunion. Martial Bielarus, un militaire, commandant de bord, fonceur et déterminé, une trentaine d'années, un des principaus officiers du vaisseau mère. Capricia TerraNova, adjointe au commandant de la navette, une femme âgée d’une soixantaine d’années, spécialiste en minéralogie et planétologie. Elle est à l’origine du nouveau projet Solaris. Jovien Mercator, un très brillant scientifique, dans plusieurs disciplines, 45 ans, au physique impressionnant, très observateur. Il est universellement reconnu comme une compétence sur les mondes extra planétaires. Venera Mulieren, une biologiste et exo-biologiste, 30 ans, spécialiste de la flore vénusienne. Robert et Aurélie Bomport deux jumeaux surdoués, 18 ans. La jeune Aurélie est télépathe. Très douée pour les langues et capable de télépathie avec les animaux mamifères Robert, le garçon a une télé-rémanence photographique et connait le lieu où il se trouve, dès sa première visite...une sorte de télé-reconnaissance, néanmoins d’une portée assez courte. Juliette LeCrabe , médecin et botaniste, 25 ans...auteur d’un ouvrage érudit sur les plantes exotiques des mondes extérieurs. A la fin de la réunion d’intronisation, le nouvel équipage rejoignit son module d’exploration, avec un seul but, atteindre un endroit propice avant la nuit, sur Kailash. La première heure du voyage vers Kailash, se déroula parfaitement, et l’équipage tout en surveillant les écrans de contrôle, se sentait réellement détendu. Il ne restait plus qu’une heure de déplacement pour atteindre un site d’attérissage, pas trop éloigné du site déjà repéré, le Chenal de Shan-Pii, lieu prévu d’exploration pour étudier ainsi ce satellite lui-même, aussi bien que les phénomènes inexpliqués de Solaris. La pénétration de l’atmosphère de Kailash semblait se dérouler sans accroc, un présage positif pour l’expédition, lorsque soudain une lumière se mit à clignoter sur le pupitre que surveillait Capricia...puis une alarme résonna dans l’habitacle, alors que Robert, s’empressait d’éteindre le bruit assourdissant malgré le casque spatial, en coupant ce signal sonore. Des précisions de la part de Capricia, permirent immédiatement au commandant Martial, de comprendre le problème de sécurité du vaisseau : une mystérieuse force d’attraction semblait s’être emparée du module, paralysant alors son indépendance de fonctionnement ! Une sorte de guidage sophistiqué ne permettait à l’engin, que de se déplacer de façon latérale, mais non ascensionnelle au sein d’un tunnel énergétique invisible...l’équipe se trouvait guidée par des contraintes inconnues, à un attérissage opposé au site du Chenal initialement prévu. Le Chenal de Shan-Pii, était-il interdit d’accès par des entités non hostiles, mais prudentes au point d’avoir créé un bouclier protecteur au-dessus de ce site désigné, pourtant bien dégagé ? Les échanges de mesures, entre Robert, le jeune jumeau et Capricia la co-pilote, permirent à la navette de descendre de plus en plus lentement vers le sol de cette lune, aux paysages décidemment variés. Postées environ à dix mètres du sol, les deux spécialistes Juliette et Vénéra, purent photographier depuis leurs pupitres des arbustes, des fougères, des zones humides plus ou moins étendues. Mais bientôt, Capricia repèra sur le sol, par son scanner d’hyperfréquences, une forme émétrice lumineuse, à pulsations régulières, située sur le bord d’un plateau aux allures cristallines, confirmé par des mesures avec des émetteurs à ultra-sons. La navette se dirigea ainsi guidée, en direction de la source d'énergie détectée par les scanners. Ils arrivérent à l’aplomb d’un plateau partiellement recouvert par de hautes dunes où poussaient des sortes de carrottes géantes, aux couleurs changeantes. La source d'énergie très lumineuse maintenant, montrait sa forme étrange parmi celles des plantes et cristaux environnants, à proximité d'une surface relativement plane et dégagée entre deux dunes... A cinq mètres du sol, Capricia enclencha les inverseurs de poussée, qui soulevèrent alors des petits nuages de sable, masquant provisoirement les objets des prises de vues de Juliette et Vénéra. Enfin, la pose de l’engin se fit toute en douceur. L’ambiance à l’intérieur de l’explorateur redevint détendue, les dernières secondes de l’alunissage parurent néanmoins fort longues !

Sometimes it is good to be late with views and comments. Today, I can read both the first installation of the story, introducing us to the crew, and bringing us to a landing of the space capsule; and I can move quickly forward to read the next part of the story! Well written Dear Clause, the scene is well painted with your words! The characters established, and the excitement of the adventure begins!
