Description

Eingang der Notaufnahme im Inneren - als HDR bearbeitet ================================================== Beelitz Heilstätten (Germany) at the gates of Berlin, was built in 1900, a huge hospital complex. Built as a sanatorium for pulmonary tuberculosis in the diseased population. From 1 World War II moved the first time the military -jha-/gallery. The sanatoria were used as a military hospital wounded by the Red Cross, the remaining part served as a military sanatorium. Until 1919 more than 12,500 soldiers were cared for in Beelitz, among which the wounded soldier Adolf Hitler in 1916. During the 2nd World War II were the sanatorium again the military as a hospital and sanatorium. The treatment centers were closed military zone after 1945 and housed the central military hospital of the Western Group of Soviet troops. The buildings that remained in their overall conservation and spared from extensive upgrades or total demolition. By 2010, few were held in accessible buildings or events and guided tours. Today is prohibited from entering due to disrepair. Sad that such a beautiful architecturally built-up area falls victim to ruin. Entrance of the emergency room inside - as HDR edit

Superb architecture indeed, excellent image! With the crisis, our time is no longer interested in the maintenance of old buildings...

An awesome photo, and what a grand and beautiful piece of architecture, even in its present state! It will be very sad if funds are not allocated to restore this treasure, and such history too!

Fantastic architecture and history, a shame they did such a good job 'fixing' the little corporal but who knew?..... Sad to see such history in decay, though it makes for interesting photographs.Thank you for this wonderful share and a window on a little known corner of the world. (any more?)

Fabelhaftes Foto!

Oh, how much I would love to get my hands dirty - by just simply renovating this absolutely gorgeous looking building (of former glory)! have already done three houses, together with my son and it's always a joy to see the end result ! But what an amazing history is hidden there - thanks for sharing this with us. BB
