Description
This is my neighbor & friend Peter & his dog Koyuk next to a wooden totem that Peter carved (the moose antlers are real, though, not carved). They are in front of the yurt that Peter & his wife Eva live in (I posted a photo of a wooden bridge on his property here). Many of Peter's carvings are on display around his property, which he has turned into a unique, serene & artistic oasis of sorts.
In addition to his wood carving, Peter is also a very accomplished nature photographer who has had some of his photos published by National Geographic, as well as other wildlife organizations. He has taken some great photos of snowy owls, which have been spotted recently on the Oregon coast (unusual, they're normally seen in Alaska & Canada, not this far south). You can see many of Peter's photos on his flickr page.

A good neighbor is a blessing. Went to Peter's flickr pages...inspiring wildlife...particularly the bears.

What a gorgeous carving! Your neighbors are multi-talented. This would make a great "author photo" on a book jacket. In case he does a book. Just sayin'. :)
