My mother is dead today, very quietly at 96. Thank you to all for you kind words.

So sad to lose your mother. She was a beautiful woman. I remember a picture of her wearing a hat, reading the newspaper. (Was she sitting in the park? I don't remember, but I believe she was outdoors.) She looked so elegant and lovely, the physical habit of holding the newspaper overcoming the fact that she could no longer understand it. It's an image that has stayed with me. My thoughts are with you, my friend. May you be in peace.
