Description

Over 15 hundred years ago Anasazi farmers and gatherers were looking out at this scene, at Mesa Verde, into a place that would one day be called Colorado. The pure vastness of the landscape here makes it a very special place. I am sure the ancients were as moved, if not more so, than we are. It is an easy place to connect to the land and the ancestors. Beautiful landscape. The high contrast B&W looks cool. I'd be curious to see a color version, if there is one. Amazing vista.

Arthur, I almost posted the colored version but its an old slide and the colors didn't do justice to the scene. It was easier to do a contrasty image in Grayscale. But if there is demand for color I will post it.

This is so majestic - I like the old style, puts me in the mind of Ansel Adams a bit. I think it would be perfect to shoot a western movie in!

I like this in b/w... what a fantastic scene. To look out over territory like this is one of the most spiritually inspiring things a person can do in life.

Beautiful B&W. Brings back memories of my visit of so long ago in full living color. (Hope to see more from this area, we have far to few. I'm really enjoying this trip back in time.)

I have read a lot about these people and the Holokum. Fascinating people and both disappeared without reason, leaving a hole in the earth and the history of mankind. Excellent landscape.

An amazing view of an awesome and awe-inspiring place. You don't appreciate how big the sky or the land is until you see a view like this. Contrast something like this to your "Old Men" picture, where the city closes everything in and it's easy to see how we forget just how boxed in we've become. Wonderful photo, Roxy!
