Good morning everyone and a big thankyou for your thoughts on my last image.
The temperatures are getting more Springlike here and with them comes the big moult...Merlin is normally cream in colour but his winter coat is yellow. You have to be a dedicated lover of the outdoors to live with a Labrador. You have to be available to play games at any time of day or night..and you have to be totally unhouse proud because I live with muddy footprints, wet towels and dog hairs, punctured footballs and soft toys without ears, and the most wonderful and protective pal anyone could wish for. Who am I kidding - I am his meal ticket and Labradors are opportunists, they use their good looks and melting eyes to great advantage, and I am a soft touch, that is all!

What a charmer! We live in a carpeted dog kennel ourselves, but heck, this house is as full of love and fun as it is full of dirt.

Gorgeous capture Jenny. Merlin obviously knows he is well loved and cared for. People that share thier homes with animals are always treated to the kind of unconditional love known only to animal lovers. Dogs always are happy to see you come home, always happy to be played with, love most anything you feed them, they dont care how much money you make, they never invite thier family to come stay with you. I've never seen any actual studys done on it, but I am certain folks that share their home with dogs &/or cats tend to have feelings of fullfillment that the petless will never have.

I love Dogs, been a Dog person all my life had several long term Pals along the way. My Ex was a Cat person, always had several of them around, because of that I cultivated a great respect for those critters too but It's Dogs for me. I went without a a Pal for about 20 years till a couple of years ago after getting my little piece of the Desert I got an Australian Kelpie pup, he's fully big now and we rarely leave each others side, he's my best bud. Such a good looker! I can never work out why houseproud folk think they want dogs! Just another ornament, I suppose. With four of them in my house I know exactly what it's like. And you are right...they will live with anyone and after a few weeks forget most of the past! After 18 rescues I know that's true.
