Description

Here's a closer shot of the palace itself. God knows how much I'd love to go inside, but it has been closed to the public for neigh on six years now. It is difficult to get people here to understand you cannot smoke in these ancient building, squash out your cigarettes on the wooden floors etc... It is difficult to get the majority of people here to respect the property. Instead, the locals throw litter everywhere, let their children run roughshod all over sites which are are of cultural and historical significance. It teach English here in Zhaoqing, and it never ceases to amaze me, how few of the local high school students even know this was temporary capitol of China! Thanks for your comments, one and all. I have tons of pictures, trust me, but it seems real life drama issues always take precedence over my hobbies.
