My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Wonderful detailed capture Tara. God Bless.

Whatever they are, and 'corbels' are as unfamiliar to me as 'string courses' and 'quatrefoils' and likely to remain so, I have often wondered just how these decorative elements are actually attached to the building itself. I'm assuming they are cemented to protruding structural metal pieces, but I've never seen anything like this being built. And are you referring to the rounded rope-like part and the squared part as the "Two string courses?" These architectural terms are all unfamiliar to me (and yes, I never look anything up, LOL).

Tremendous beauty and architecture, Dear Tara! This is really something to check out, and I really like how you've captured this to reveal and to focus on, the stellar work that went into something like this. It's not everyday we see such incredible artwork! A really beautiful softness and appeal you've composed this with!

WHat a fabulous shot you have taken of this bite of the building. You know where to get the best parts.

I appreciate the way you're able to zero in on small architectural details that I might notice & admire, but not be able to figure out how to incorporate into an effective composition. Fine work...

It is a masterpiece. Only you can do it like this. It is very good. 5+!

Nice picture of great architecture, they knew how to built in those days :)

Wonderful capture! :)

Beautiful photo, Tara. And you're right on with the architectural description. Ah, if only architects today had that artistic capability, and builders the will and money to build like that today, instead of steel and glass boxes! How much more interesting and beautiful our environments would be! But, I think I just shot myself in the foot - without those modern buildings we wouldn't have all the interesting photos you and Bill have made of just such buildings and the reflections in them. Yet... there's a beauty in each, modern and old, but of differing types. Keep up the good work! :-)
