Description


The Cuisine of Hawaii: Spam Musubi, Ahi Poke & Daikon Cakes. Spam Musubi is fried spam and sticky sushi rice wrapped with thin strips of Nori (seaweed). Ahi Poke is made from Sushi-grade tuna. Daikon Cakes, made from a carrot shaped Japanese radish called Daikon. They tasted kind of weird before it was cooked, then after it was pan fried it was actually pretty tasty. It got topped with a Spicy Plum Dressing. Ahi Poke INGREDIENT Sushi-grade tuna (cut in 1-inch cubes) Hawaiian salt or kosher salt Tomato (peeled, seeded, 1/4 inch dice) Maui sweet onion (1/4 inch dice) Soy sauce Roasted sesame oil Sugar Red pepper flakes Green onions (sliced, for garnish) Procedure 1) Combine all ingredients except green onions and allow flavors to blend for 1 hour. 2) Serve chilled. Garnish with green onions.

I showed this to my supervisor in my office and she knew exactly what to call these foods and raved about how good this meal is. So obviously, your photography is spot-on. :-)
