Continuing my series about the birds seen earlier this month in Fuerteventura,one of the Canary Islands:
The Ruddy Shelduck, Tadorna ferruginea, is a member of the duck, goose and swan family Anatidae. It is in the shelduck subfamily Tadorninae.
Le Tadorne casarca (Tadorna ferruginea) est une espèce d'oiseau appartenant à la famille des anatidés.
La femelle se distingue du mâle par la zone blanche étendue entre le bec et l'œil et l'absence de collier noir.
