Description

Beren had developed a special bond with both Stavros and Evie long ago. He and Ursala had found them wandering through France about two years after they'd escaped from their creator, and taken them in . Like them, he was a hybrid, both a wolf-kin and a vampire. It had meant something entirely different in the days when he became a wolf-spirit - a berserker warrior who was able to merge himself with the wolf-spirit within and become a fierce unstoppable killing machine. By the old code the Wolf King had established, they only did that when it was needed - in battle, in defense and to hunt. Such a spirit could shift any time, not only in the light of the full moon. Things were different these days with the wolf-kin. They knew no such code. They knew no restraint nor control in their mad shifting. They were lost souls at the mercy of their 'beast', and never it's master. As the evening wore on and they sat around catching up with Rhona and Raimo, Beren began to feel concern, then puzzlement, then the pumping of adrenalin as Evie shifted states far away. Stavros had said he'd smelled the were near his place. That meant he'd smelled them too. Raimo had said earlier that Seth and Stavros were out hunting the beast. That meant Evie was alone. Ursala stopped talking suddenly. She felt it too. It wasn't just his imagination. Because of their bond, Stavros would probably sense it too. But would he and Seth get back in time? Even if they did, could they stop this 'lunatic'? Rhona gasped as she watched her uncle's eyes grow strange and dark, and a rolling growl emanated from his chest. He seemed to simply evaporate in his chair and he was gone. Raimo looked as if he'd follow and Ursala fixed him with 'the eye'. "You stay here. Let Beren take care of this. Trust me - he's more than capable." ***** The 'werewolf' here is GypsyAngel's "Ashe". Picking back up on the situation with Evie here...after a few side trips :) Thanks for looking and your comments and support dear friends. Have a wonderful Friday! Cheers! Rayvn

Took me about 3 careful reads to get it but I got it. I like this shot, I like displaced head shots a lot. I like the vibrancy of the colors and the strong expression. Powerful work. I have a suggestion on cropping. Take the full image and crop the portrait just at the edge of where the bridge of his left eye touches the top of his nose. Much more dramatic, IMHO to show only half the face - his right half. Good work and looking forward to this new chapter. Glad Beren and Ursula are still around... my faves.

Excellent expressions and a great story to go with it too. I like how you have managed to get two different colourings in the same image. Very well done.

Great image. I like the foreground to background look. I'm trying to catch up on the story here and I'm a little out of order, but it's all making sense.
