Description


The "Miniatur Wunderland" within the "Hamburger Speicherstadt" is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Germany. Some facts: - more than 6 million visitors already - over a size of 4.000 m² (and it is still growing) - day and night can be experienced within only a few hours - 200.000 mini inhabitants - 820 trains, 4.000 cars and ships - more than 300.000 lights And it is still growing. The German equivalent of the Chicago Museum of Science and Indusry's train layout. A friend of mine saw it in 2006 and let me see the DVD he purchased. Would be nice if you could post some photos of this. European (German) model railroads and US model railroads are quite different and it would be quite instructive to compare bmac62 photos from the Chicago museum with your photos from Hamburg. Keep up the good work! :-)

Wonderful Christian. Thanks for the link to your gallery. You've got a first class website and the photos you've taken of the model railroad in Hamburg are very, very good. My pictures of the model railroad that I am putting up now were taken by me in 2009. Since that time I've become a better photographer and definitely want to return to Chicago and take another turn at doing a more complete job. I particularly like your photo above showing the scenery at nightime.
