Description

I took a few moments to get a couple photos of my Forsythia bush today, before all the blooms go away... And I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive... I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful comments, sitemails and emails - you all are just the best! Things here have been insanely busy lately, but I think I see a little light at the end of the tunnel - hopefully it's not a train! LOL! Things are still very difficult with my dad - his short-term memory is almost non-existant... He can tell you stories about his childhood, or his experiences in WW2. But he can't remember what you told him 5 minutes ago, or even what day it is. He's back at his apartment for now, but I don't know how much longer he'll be able to stay there. At any rate, I'm just taking things one day at a time. I'm trying to stay somewhat caught up on comments, and have been working on a few projects as time permits. I plan on being back in the swing of things very soon, and for my come-back post........ Well, it's a surprise! :-D Hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day, and didn't drink too much green beer! :-D Bless you all - I'll be back soon! Rod

You did a very nice job on this warm and wonderful dedication Rod. I'm keeping you and your father in my prayers during this time as I know you're facing a very difficult situation. May God bless and watch over your family.

I second Tara's comments above and it is really good to get a report from you on your dad. Life does march on doesn't it. My dad passed in 2007...I miss him but his body just wasn't up to carrying him any longer than his 99 years.

That's the classic way it goes. Short term goes first, then more recent and it just winds back through to childhood. My dad pretty much thinks he is a kid growing up on the farm now - he talks about getting the crops in and what the weather is like up north, where he thinks I am driving in from. Perhaps it is a small mercey of this disease that they rewind to there childhood days. You know it's not going to get better; you just get used to living with it. The only hope is they find a cure before it gets us. Not meaning to be morbid but just speaking the truth as I am aware of it. Glad to see you here.

A beautiful capture and I am glad you are seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel. My short term memory isn't too good these days either so I am trying to learn things to keep it going for as long as I can. Old age is no fun.

A beautiful capture Rod!!! As Mike said ours is not in bloom yet, but we are having truly BIZZARE weather here. It is March 19th and we are walking around in t-shirt, shorts and sandals. We are just holding our breath as to what April will bring!!! The water is warming up in the koi pond and they are hungry and so for the past two days we have been feeding them...the earliest we have ever fed them. Thanks for a picture of spring!
