Description

Suddenly, EVERYONE is an archaeologist... A basic rule of the action-adventure genre is that guys in uniforms have got nothing better to do with their time than leaf through old issues of National Geographic looking for clues to a splendid and possibly magical treasure horde- to sweeten their approaching retirement. So, why should the 1930's in the Western Pacific be any different... The real problem that professionals have with these enthusiastic "amateurs" is that their clumsy efforts tend to "damage" the integrity of site. Of course, in the movies, these fortune hunters bring all the toys don't they? Your average archaeologist makes a dramatic entrance in what? Perhaps, a banged up old truck? I imagine their rivals would fly around in something state of the art for the time... like this beauty perhaps, a Type 97 flying boat. The Kawanishi H6K2-L is surely the "staff car" of choice for serious ditch diggers. Don't let the banal intended purpose, "officer transport" fool you, ...that is NOT a plankton sampler hanging from its wing struts. What was that about "damaging" the site? ;-) Assets: the "unmarked" navy H6K2-L from the last post- A closer look this time, and carrying an IJN Type 91 torpedo (modelled in Shade 10) on its bomb rack.

A fine study of a much under-seen aircraft.. Shame (really) none were left after the war.. So few Japanese were.. Great Render.. Rob

Beautiful model!! Sometimes these "Simple" renders are very satisfying. I like this one on both counts.

A great model and fine looking aircraft. As Rob points out, too few Japanese planes out there both real and model. Fine work!
