This is the remains of a vast volcano.
Look at the area on Google earth to see the huge concentric rings, not noticable on the ground.

A beautiful composition, Anthony. My old neighbour would have loved this one, in particular. He had relatives up there. Unfortunately he was 'called away' on Monday, at the age of 79 ... Last week I was travelling around several extinct volcanoes in Northern Ireland's Glens of Antrim, at another funeral. I trust that you and your loved ones are well, ans still enjoying that wonderful view out the window ... ;o) Warm regards, as Glasgow got 'sunned upon' today (!!!), John.
