Description
Sorry I'm way behind on comments and such. I'm off from work next week and will try to do some catching up.
Not sure of what to do, I've been working on a few things simultaneously. I always wanted to do a version of this album cover. ELP is just about my favorite band, though now defunct, and Keith Emerson my favorite piano, organ and synth player as well as most inspiring musician. His talents inspired me to play keyboards and despite realizing I'd never come close to his talent I enjoy playing nonetheless.
This is my version of the cover from their second album. I can't say it's my favorite, because all their albums up to 1977s Works were my favorites. Included below is a link to Wikipedia if anyone is interested in more info and it shows the original cover.
The 'Tarkus' was made from a WW I tank from Touchwood, an armadillo from DAZ and the head of, of course, the Mill Dragon 2. I assembled him in poser and re-materialed him in Vue. Vue render and some photoshop for the fire and volcano smoke.
Thanks for taking a look and I apologize for not commenting lately. Spring sprung early and with house work after work and taxes and visiting friends etc, I've just been busy.

Pretty cool Art :) Good job on this! Your armadillo tank turned out really well. I saw ELP on their Brain Salad Surgery tour and not only is Keith a great keyboard player but he was absolutely crazy on stage. I loved it. Very talented performer in many ways. BSS is probably my most favorite, but I do like the first one too.

splend!! ELP were one of my favorite bands thruoghout the 70's. I agree. Keith Emerson was one of the most influential keyboardists of this time. What a great render. Well done!!

Great bit of modeling work here. Always a real challenge to make these chimeras. Your image is miles better than the original - I am sure the band would have chosen your work had it been availabel then.
