Description
Like a hand, holding something delicate, the fingers of this fir tree support a handful of snow, shining in the sun, cupping it so that we can examine it's texture, it's weight, it's coolness...
the snow in this storm was heavy, wet stuff. I first got hit on the weekend as I was driving back from Calgary to Medicine Hat (all you Google Maps people can see what a trip that is) at night. It started snowing around Strathmore, all the way to Brooks. Had to go slow, treacherous driving conditions. People in big 4x4's would pass me, didn't mind one bit.... they tended to end up in the ditch.... a three hour trip took 5 hours...
ended the trip by stopping to watch the northern lights when the sky cleared....magic...

Yeah, while we didn't get much snow here in the city, the highway got swallowed, and closed. I don't envy you that drive. Isn't it funny how the ditches in a snowstorm are always full of 4x4's?

It might have been a long ride home, but at least you got to stop and take some funky fidged captures ! Nice one Colin...or should that be ice one Colin ?...LOL ~Cheers~
