Description

Dianthus flowers Flash, no direct sunlight. Basically the same shot as yesterday, but with a flash, a much faster shutter speed (The shutter speed should be set so your light meter bar is all the way to the left side.) and a higher F/stop setting. (14 or higher) You want anything in the background to be distant with no sunlight hitting in your field of view and your camera should be as close as you can be to the subject you are shooting. In this way any light from the flash will not be able to make it back from the background before the shutter closes when you take your picture. You will have to do some trail and error shots to get your settings correct for you specific needs. Oh! And make sure your focus is on your close up subject and not the anything in the background. These setting will rely on the DOF (Depth of field) created by this. Tip: Looks for solid shaded areas in the distant to line your shot up with if the sun is shining. Sun shine on your subject is fine, but not in your background field of view for any sun shine or other strong light back there will show up in your capture. Hope you all enjoy and please zoom. Thanks for the comments.

Wonderful work, Kim !Important to remember that it is the light that draws the pictures and, at times, must be helped to do that!
