Description

My beautiful and succulent Jade has been diminishing lately - until I had found the culprit or another freeloading customer - in this case a TUSSOCK MOTH, (known to have a voracious appetite) has been defoliating several of my plants ... say no more! *** To insect lovers, the Tussock Moth caterpillars are known for their striking tufts of hair, or tussocks. Many species exhibit four characteristic clumps of bristles on their backs, giving them the appearance of a toothbrush or carrying his own set of paintbrushes ... aha! should have known better - another artist in the family! Cheers Brigitte (aka blondeblurr) PS both pix are my own.

A super capture of this neat little 'toothbrush' but I guess he is for the chop when he has been devouring your trees. He is a very handsome guy too and the little bristles look so cute. I haven't seen this little caterpillar before and I hope he doesn't jump the ditch any time soon.

Good heavens, the most colorful bottle brush I've ever layed eyes on! I've never heard of or seen this species in my entire existence, BB. What a myriad of strange creatures you have in Australia.

In a very special attitude you have photographed this beautiful caterpillar. Too bad it eats your beautiful flowers, as it has such a special look. I've never seen this kind, and your presentation is fabulous. In a way I love that, so backward dark 'arms', lifted as if he gives himself to something. Du bisst in meiner Gedanken, ständig. Hatte for, dir Heute zu schreiben ♥ Hoffe dir geht's besser, take car, dear friend.

Because you've got a "nice" problem .... in both senses. A lot of damage from a beautiful caterpillar. I think she has found a new home with you. Laugh or cry?????? A outstanding macro!!
