Wow what a terrific find, and a place I would love to explore. This is a C-47 (the military version of a DC-3). These Gooney Birds actually flew gliders among other things into Normandy which I reckon is amazing. Great post mate.

Beautiful shot - shows the paint scheme and colors very well. The people there in Normandy sure remember - they were in the middle of it and don't want anyone to forget what happened and what it was like. Keep up the good work! :-)
