Description

Taking a break from flower carpets, I present some slightly different scenes. This photo was taken in May. Notice there is still snow in some of the crevices of Mount Baldy. The Santa Ritas are located south of Tucson, and contain the famous Madera Canyon. Prickly Poppies are also known as Matilija Poppies. I have never seen carpets of them, just a few scattered plants, mostly along paved roadsides, where they get somewhat more water when it rains.
