A wonderful mood and sight, Alan. Actually it looks a bit like where we live. I've made a photo which really looks similar. I will look for it (once) ;-)

one of the things you do, as a photographer, is capture breathtaking beauty with wholly understated ease. By that, I mean that pieces like this don't 'announce' themselves, they just 'are'. That's something hard to do, for many of us, since when we see stunning beauty we tend to "frame" it in a way that announces it to the world. I assume some of this naturalness comes from working with the camera long enough. But some of it must come from within you, your way of seeing the world...The valley out there is blanketed in a velvety fog, and the highlights---like the reflections on the roofs---come through like jewels more than hard roofs, etc. And, in front, the beautiful blanket of tilled fields are filtered through the best filter any artists will find on earth: Nature itself. And that glorious overarching tree in the foreground 'hugs' the entire piece...Beautiful work as always, and making us want to be in that famous & beautiful part of the world. (In the states, people who hear of your part of England think of Elysian fields & paradise. Your gallery sure makes it seem so!)

I absolutely love this image! When I look at it on zoom, I have the hardest time tearing my eyes away. The lighting is beautiful and magical. I can feel the cool moisture in the air and the freshness of the early morning. I love the gradual deepening of the mist and the way that the further tree on the left is just enough more shrouded so that the branches of the closer tree stand out clearly before it. The view in the distance is veiled into softness, but the beauty of its landscape is there in all its glory. I love this image, because as I gaze at it, I feel such a strong desire to be there, under your tree, looking out, over this scene. Very, very beautiful, Alan.
