Description

A quick unbiased light study using Octane Renderer. Mec4D's Buddy2 texture & 3D beard & torso hairs applied to Genesis, and exported as an obj for Octane to work it's magic. The skin is a custom shader to get a more physically accurate reflectance & scattering, bringing a lot more life to the model.

The skin and hair is looking fab. My eye catches daz mesh foibles around the ears and neck where more res and poly pushing is needed. Sclera got occluded. I think you should see more brightness and reflected specular there. The renderer did a nice contrast between sky and skin and preserved the darks. Nice work and why I crit, btw

Thanks for the comment Richardson. Yes the eyes with the Genesis figure in D|S are a tricky issue. Their surface is very flat, even with the curve & bulge morphs set to full, you don't get the proper convex shape to properly reflect the environment as the eyes do in the physical world. It requires an additional morph for the cornea, iris & overall eye shape, then you get a beautiful catchlight & convex reflections instead of a flat reflection. You can see a direct light reflection in the eyes as they are now here: http://forum.daz3d.com/postimages/origimage_1_3353183.jpg I need to work on proper morphs (Cath is already on the case hehe) for the eyes to catch the realness :-)
