Description

Unfortunately I didn't meet Amy Winehouse until after her death. Like so many others who were not hip to her song I thought she was just another out of control rocker, that the Rehab song was just a novelty. A one hit wonder packaged with a real hip video that had this sexy white black girl singing. I mean it honestly could have been my own cousin who herself died from a drug overdose. Anyway after all the TV reporters talking about her; (most negative), her life being so cruelly violated in such an unkind unsympathetic way I decided to look her up on You Tube. Wow! After just one song I found I had fallen deeply in love with this wonderful woman with this wonderful voice. She had a way of phrasing each word in such a way as to pull me into her song, her world; and at the same time open a door and enter mine. I have come to truly believe that God himself, upon hearing her voice decided that we in this earthly existence were not worthy of such beauty. This is just the first in a short series of work I will be doing in memory of Mizz Winehouse. This piece truly does not do her justice and I hope the next will be a bit more flattering and capture her true beauty.
