Happy Birthday my dearest friend Barbara,
I hope you like your card I made you.
Barbara is such a dear friend to me and has been for many years, she is the kindest and most caring friend I have ever known.
We have shared many happy times together, from going to dog shows, eating out, and oh those days we got together and still do, enjoying our toasted sarnies and cream cakes.
It used to be a bottle of wine with the food in the old days. Oh how we would laughed as we walked each other home with dogs in tow. Remember when one of yours back knee butted me as she raced by, and I fell to the ground, we still cannot remember what I was carrying at the time but I saved it lol :o)x
What you might not know about Barbara guys is she adores elephants with a passion, so this is for you today on your special day, I hope you enjoy it. Love you best pal, hugs Janice xxxxxxx

I have a friend like you discribe but she move north and I miss those times my sisters birthday was March I found a beautiful elephant statue as she loves them and collects them this whole pov is just perfect!!happy birthday to your friend

Dear Jane this is simply awesome! I just love this little guy! And if it's possible, you just keep getting better and better in your awesome artwork! It's funny but I had a similar idea, found a stock photo of an elephant statue, and adapted it to suit my needs! I remembered that Barb loves elephants and has those wonderful paintings! Hope all is well with you dear friend, and with the furry folk.

a beautiful birthday gift, Jane, and a really fine piece. I saw it in the 2D forum too. (Well deserved!) The top half is no surprise to anyone familiar with your work---with the phantasmagorical fantasy-sky and that wonderful silken waterfall (like a dream) and the all-consuming sunburst which burgeons forth in layer after layer (like the clouds are actual sun-stuff flying into the cosmos). And also, the slight mountains & that tree, bare but pregnant and even a little spooky! But then there's the bottom half, where amazing texture takes over & you get this real desert feel, with primal beauty and even the feeling that there are 'hot springs' here (behind the elephant). Your plants are beautiful & articulate, and spaced just right so we still have lots of open soil---the soil is like a patterned graphic background: The piece, in fact, HAS a graphic feel, like it was partially etched. Also, the elephant itself is very finely done, w/ very fine detail, anatomically & aesthetically, with touches of the sky in its skin. And, finally, a kind of mythic pose, like he's moving the whole earth---in fact, the piece feels mythic all around, like a beast in some primal world moving something that will change everything. I'll be back for more, Jane. Also, I truly hope your results (medical) are good; and I know how even waiting can wear one down. I wish the very best for you, you wholly deserve it after so many years. Many blessings your way!
