Hello!! from Jean. I live in UK north of Manchester and close to the Ribble Valley. I have two sons who live in the south of England , and Geneva. I have been interested in photography for years..in the sense of capturing people and scenes, but with a digital camera have become an addict. Photography enables unique moments to be captured and one learns to use one's eyes more searchingly. As I have absolutely no talent in conventional art it is a challenge to try to produce results with all the help available with software. As a overview of my gallery will show, I am a novice! I do like to experiment..usually with no fixed idea of where i'm going1 Just persist until the image pleases me. and the creative process is fun. Members of RR have been very generous with their comments and help, which is very much appreciated. I have learned so much of seeing other artists' work apart from the real enjoyment of viewing and having contact with other members.  I like to travel which gives added inspiration.... Many many thanks to you all. JeanÂ

Wonderful Shot

It's a beautiful spot; I love train stations, and wouldn't mind at all having to use one on a daily basis! I just wish our trains were as nice and plentiful as yours!

THANKS a LOT for posting this. Not much has changed. The white "box" in the middle wasn't there, nor was Burger King, not the flowers to the left of the white corner along the photo's right edge. If I recall correctly, the floor was a blck asphalt-like substance. Now it's polished stone, which reflects the light nicely. The whole inside looks cleaner, too. Someone must have gone over every square inch with a tooth brush to get it that clean looking. And, of course, people's dress has changed, too, but not all that much. Jeans were really coming into their own when I was in the UK. The light is fabulous in this photo - you got the right time for it! The windowed roof helps a lot! But, I surmise the trains are modern - not the old two door coupés of yore (door at each side leading to a platform). Thanks again for posting! :-)

What a stunning shot! Well done! One would have to look through many thousands of photos to find as good a candidate for a jigsaw puzzle than this one!
