Description

Hi everyone, thought i would try a little speed modelling from scratch. 7 Hours, 11772 objects and 953866 polys later this was the result. Its still in need of tidying up and detailing but that can wait until tomorrow. Oh..it will not open in Bryce, 6 or 7, so as always it was constructed and rendered in my original Bryce 4, which has been extremely reliable, well most of the time unless im working on a ma-hussive amount of poly's and then it just sits there and dribbles for a few minutes then wakes up again. 6 and 7 (free so i cannot really moan) i hate them with a passion, but as everyone told me years ago *Bryce is not really meant for modelling!*....er...i beg to disagree just wish they would have bothered.... Ok im done with the moans.. Thankyou for taking a look, as rendered no post except for name. Peace Steve and Crew :)

Yeah, I can understand what you mean. The newer versions have a stupid bug that causes trouble with large files. I find it difficult to believe it's a bug that couldn't be squashed, but I digress. At any rate, this is an awesome render, The modeling work is top-notch, and instantly brought to mind the menace of HAL9000 and the pod-craft that HAL used to kill one of the astronauts in "2001 A SPace Odyssey".

1st off...I love that model, it's very slick looking! I had bryce 3, and before that it was POVray/Moray. While I was never fond of the Bryce interface, I found it could model quite well, but then, I was used to POVray boolians. I have Bryce 7 pro...man what a waste of cash that was! If Bryce 4 still works for you, (and I can see it does) go for it!

Fantastic modeling and lighting! My first thought was "HAL", too. And I agree with you on modeling with Bryce. :-) Corrie
