Description

OK. There are way to many leaves to shoot from my regular spot. As far as I could tell, there were no babies there. I had to go climbing. So far so good. The problem is, I was not ready to go climbing. You can see where this is going. Yes, I am a determined person. As I was moving down hill (at a high speed), not on purpose, this little brat jumped up and looked over the nest to watch me, sliding, fast, to the edge. Now you understand the title. Yes, I do believe he was laughing at me, the stupid person. And to think, I was so worried about them just minutes before. I think I may consider another subject. Maybe dandelions, in a flat field. OK. I will upload the other pictures in a day or two. I need to go lay down now. After I get a shower as I am quite muddy. Yes, I know. A stupid person. I bought a nice rope on the way home.

Perhaps it sensed the danger you were in and tried to warn? Animals are often smarter than we give them credit for. I'm amazed that you could get this photo at all, considering the dangerous circumstances. I'm glad you got the rope. Now, I wonder how long before they start flying and consider you "fair game" for a closer examination? (I'm not thinking attacking or eating, I'm thinking curiosity). I'm looking foreward to your next post. And, I'm glad you got that rope (finally). Do be careful, and keep up the good work! I really appreciate seeing the development of these birds. It's something extremely rare to be seen and I hope the folks here at Rendo really appreciate that! :-)

Great capture and narrative! when you talked about sliding down the hillside, my first thought was the scene in the movie, Romancing the Stone; or if you're into the SciFi genre, Predator #1 I am glad you purchased the rope and I hope you are using it when you need to.
