My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

A brilliant pic for your first 'bug' capture Tara and zoom is better.

Aw, I think you were just waiting for a bug that matched the petal color exactly, as this one does! Nice going!

Congratulations Tara it is a fabulous capture. The yellow flower co9mpliments the yellow jacket very well. May there be many more of these type of captures. God Bless.

Oh yea! I do know how devious those bugs are. They take great delight in making us look silly . I think they know my eagles. This is a great shot! The wasp is great, and it is bigger in zoom! Keep up the good work!
NanetteTredoux
And best of all it didn't sting you!

Perfect details in your picture.

this is a awesome macro shot. the overall subject is pretty sharp and that is all you can get with bugs sometime. The good news is you had a camera and that's what counts. steve

This is a good shot.It is better that you got it rather then it getting you. They can really hurt for such a small creature.
MrsRatbag
Ooh, you did good! Wow, and brave too...I haven't gotten these, only some bees and hoverflies, tame stuff. I'm proud of you!

LOL!!! we get what we deserve? ;-D awesome capture!!! & an amazing match!!!

A nice, clear capture of this handsome fellow, Tara! Congrats on finally catching one! I've found that you have to psyche the little buggers out.... Pretend you're more interested in the flower than in them. They get jealous, and plop themselves right in front of your lens. You know, kinda like people who see that you're getting ready to take a photo of something, and walk right in front of you anyway.... Works for me, anyhow... LOL!
