Goes to show you how much you can learn from a game platform. You hint at your "experience" with them but I wonder just what your actual history is. If you bought one second-hand from someone that didn't know what they were doing as an owner of a unique powerplant it doesn't surprise me if you had problems. Having been the owner of a 1986 3rd generation RX-7 from new for 20+ years I can unequivocally state that it was indeed a reliable car. I had racked up over 240,000 miles on the odometer and it was still running strong when I finally sold it. Proper attention to oil changes were a big factor in this longevity and it was never prone to oil leaks that I ever saw. By the time the 13B came out in '85 Mazda was actually getting it's poop in a group with Wankel's ingenious design. The rotary is essentially a two stroke engine that uses both primary and secondary oil injectors to lube the apex seals. When driven hard they could easily use a quart of oil within 1,000 miles or so. Probably where the misconception that they were "leakers" initiated among the uninformed. Of course these are also the kind of people that bought "air-cooled" (technically oil-cooled) Porsche 911's and 930's and drove them like Buicks during the status driven 80's and couldn't figure out why they toasted the motors... that or barrel rolled them because they didn't know how to drive a car with a 60% rear weight bias into a corner hot... hint, you do not touch the brakes. Yeppers, had one of them, too, a '79 911SC. I stayed away from upgrading to the 4th generation twin turbo in '92 for a number of reasons ~ it seriously downsized a car that wasn't oversized to begin with, monthly insurance was 30% more than the payment was going to be and they'd gone way north of $30K, as did the Supras and the 300Z's of that era... all major contributing factors in their demise. But man, could it make your gums bleed. On a lighter note ~ a nice screen capture. There's nothing like the sound of an uncorked rotary... :)

I really wish you would have captured a longer animation. This one gets cut off too soon at the end. :( Great work, and I know animations are a bit tedious to put together. The only thing it really needs is sound. Haha!
