Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Talk about big business! I spent some time in a northern air control center watching screens of aircraft in the sky all over the world. They said it was a slow day but at that time there were 6,500 passenger aircraft just over North America...mind boggling just thinking about the fuel consumption, let alone everything else involved in the whole business. They actually asked me if I would consider working on air traffic control...said I would be good at it, as they were looking for steady guys like me. I said "What?" like I couldn't hear very well, and drew a great laugh, but I wasn't kidding, LOL! Love your shot Bill!

Great shot of this plane Bill!!

That sky is fabulous! Nice of them to put a blue-and-white plane out for you to shoot against that dramatic backdrop. A most excellent image!

Superb capture Bill. God Bless.

A very unusual image Bill that i've never seen the like of. Great to see some companies are doing well in these times and it's a nice colour.

Beautiful photo, Bill. When I looked at the photo (before I read your text), I was asking myself - uh,oh, just what's happened to that plane? Then I read the text. I suppose the plane is being completed outdoors due to lack of enough indoor facilities. Must be a tough job with rain and other weather conditions. At least the parts to be added are always exposed to the weather, but... the fellows assembling the plane? I like the varying shades of blue and grey. The angle almost looks like the plane is ready to take to the sky. Keep up the good work! :-)

Cool capture of the sky and the airplane that will someday be in it

Great shot, well caught over the fence.. Useful to me as I have a snap a ANA Aircraft in my files awaiting Company name to be found! lol Now you've saved me the trouble! Now part two! LOL Knackered Bill.. This is English/British slang for broken.. Its not a 'bad' slang word so it CAN be used in polite Company lol There you go.. ;-) Rob

Atmospheric sky, very beautiful!!

Great POV and rich color in this gorgeous shot of the beautiful airliner, contrasted against the beautiful sky, Bill. Am not surprised that the components are manufactured all over the place, just like automobiles nowadays.

We are getting some of these down here too. This one looks great against that marvellous sky.
