Description
a small fishing village not far from the Lizard peninsula on the south coast, Cadgwith has recently featured in a television programme about its small fishing fleet and its attempts to set up a fihing cooperative with the idea of following the veg box system of regular sales to the local community.
In the event of bad weather here all the boats and fishing tackle have to be all physically dragged back up into the town to avoid losses, not an easy way of life in anyones language. The biggest stumbling block they have come accross with this new initiative is the reluctance of the English to try new fish, if its not Cod or Plaice swathed in batter a lot of people are not interested, The way they are trying to overcome this barrier to its sucess is by mobilising local chefs and food organisations to cook unusual fish dishes at local festivals and even on the foreshore, and it shows signs of working,which is very encouraging. It amazes me in an island race such as ours with so much fish on offer that all this proves to be neccessary. Sorry about picture quality, taken from an old negative.

re your narrative, I think most technologized countries have lost some contact with their deep roots, incl how they eat, what they eat, and what they want to eat. Your comments don't surprise me...As for the quality of the shot, it's no problem because the layout & 'music' of the shot is clear as a bell. I always like seeing your building, urban, shoreline and other 'crowded' shots like these, as contrast to your wonderful landscape/nature shots. More sides to your eye. The music here is about all kinds of angles, stops & flows, as we move from the bottom right to the upper left. A pathway with boats & stuff on the diagonal, and plenty of things that break the line. And the buildings---upper right---give wonderful counterpoint to the flow. A melange of structures & vectors. And it's punctuated by that broad white boat down at the left-bottom...Some places are simply 'riots' of forms in collision, and if one captures such sights, it makes for a rhythmic jazzy result. I really like this shot.

A wonderful image from a negative. A very busy looking beach with all those boats up there. I am very fussy about only deep water Atlantic Cod in my fish & chips. I used to only buy British Sea Jewel cod but have not found it for the past few years.
