Description

A story for the children and the young at heart!!! Paul and Sally decided to go see their Nanna one Easter Sunday. They took a basket of fresh cut Daffodils, and a little basket of 2 Easter eggs. There was one for Grandpa and one for their Nanna. Paul had woven the basket at school and was very proud of it. Just as they were about to leave their 2 kittens followed them into the garden to show them that 3 of the Easter chics had hatched and that they were looking after them. It was then it happened Paul tripped on the rocky ground and fell dropping the Easter basket to the floor. Oh no the chocolate eggs broke and his sister Sally just stood shaking her head, crossing her arms and saying "I just knew something like this would happen". As she looked up she saw something far more interesting a bird with a mouth full of worms about to feed her clutch of chics. Paul sat crossed legged on the floor deciding what should be done when one of the kittens hooked her head under one of the Easter Egg bows and wore it around her neck. She looked up at him as if to say it is ok, it isn't the end of the world, and he looked down on her and smiled. Their other kitten was having fun too watching a huge snail on the fence, broken choccie eggs were no problem to her. The 3 chics were amazed to see chocolate egg shells, wondering if they could get in them or not to sleep, they looked so cute as they peered into the eggs. Paul and Sally decided that the only thing to do was to enjoy watching all the activity around them, and eat up the chocolate eggs that had smashed to the ground. At least their grandparents would get some lovely daffodils and Paul knew how much they would love the basket he had made for them. So with chocolate full tummies they set out again to visit Nanna and Grandpa ... It was a Happy Easter after all.
