Description
I realize that this image may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, There are countless untold stories by countless people across the globe and this is one of them.
"Easter was the 33rd Anniversary of the formation of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the charitable order of queer "nuns" that formed in 1979 when a few men donned habits and bar-hopped in the Castro to great applause. Today the order is worldwide and uses a mixture of activism, camp and frivolity to promote tolerance and human rights, sometimes ruffling conservative members of the Catholic church"
Their annual Easter party starts with an egg hunt, followed by a bonnet contest, some burlesque, lots of lip-synching to extended dance remixes and the much anticipated Hunky Jesus Contest"

Very interesting photo and story. Strange. but these parades, if you will, were very popular during the religious holidays of the Middle Ages. Some of them would never be accepted today. And we think we invented these ribald demonstrations. My favorite is Mad Meg Day. Beautiful work!!!!!
