Description

On April 10th, 1912, RMS Titanic leaves Southampton, England, embarking on its fateful maiden voyage... Not exactly my best picture, but oh well. I can't really remember where I got the model, but its folders say 'Digimation'. The model mesh itself is quite well done, but its texture work was a bit...meh. I tweaked what I could and came up with this. For those that didn't know, the smokeless fourth stack is not a mistake, as it really was just a dummy stack to make the ship look better. I'll be putting up images of the Titanic over the next few days, commemorating its only voyage. (mostly night shots, which this model looks pretty good in...) What do you think? ;)

You think they would have dummy smoke too then. Nice work and tribute. My daughter wants me to go see the 3-D version of the movie this week, but i have mixed feelings about it. I think the studios are just trying to make all the movie they can make, its still going to end the same way.

And it was the fake stack that broke loose and toppled onto a lot of people swimming, smashing them flat. As you say, the textures aren't the best, but may well be great for night images. Let's see what you can come up with! Keep up the good work! :-)

Nice, but your smoke should go clean out of the image, it generally hangs about for miles. Like your model though, much better than mine. Also, if you don't mind me offering another observation, the wake should really be a bit whiter, salt water bubbles like mad. None of the above knocks your work, which is excellent.
