Description
Megatherium was a genus of large ground sloths endemic to Central America and South America. They lived from the Pliocene through Pleistocene existing approximately 5.3 million years. The largest species, Megatherium americanum of the late Pleistocene, had the size of an elephant.

They look like grizzly bears with big tails. I wonder if the paleontologists have interpreted this right - a tree sloth big as an elephant? No tree would support it. Be that as it may. You've done a great job with this photo, er, I mean, image! Keep up the good work! :-)
