Description
Lakamtun M represents the king "Smoke squirrel" who was the 15th king of Copan and reigned from 749 to 763 AD.
The hieroglyphic stairway is about 12 meters, with 63 steps in which 2500 glyphs (stone carvings) tell the story of 16 kings of Copan. It is considered the most important writing sample of all Mesoamerica.
