Just a sketch I made with watercolor from a photo.

We have had beautiful sunshine all day. Still a bit cool, but yesterday we actually were sitting outside drinking coffee for the first time. :)

So much here, yet so simple. Only a few lines, and the color applied in such a lovely, loose style (I LOVE it when you work like this!), and the finished piece is gorgeous. You have the touch, my friend!

This makes me think of something Japanese: I think it is the water colors and the simple lines and the generally lighter colors. It's very elegant and even though the subject matter is an alley, which is rather "closed" at least on each side, the whole image seems so open and it has so much breathing room! I love the simple elegance here, and I can easily imagine a whole series off these! This is so wonderful. Very elegant. Others have said it and I think they're right: you have such a nice, light touch when it comes to these.
