My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

I tried to shoot in the train station and some rent-a-cop tried to tell me it was not allowed.no where is it in the law(local) that photos are not allowed.a man won in court in NYC over it little did I know that earlier the same morning someone tried to set the station on fire 75 feet below the highway

I use mine a lot. Especially as I get older. It is harder to get down and up.

I was just gonna ask how this was done without putting yourself in a compromising position in a London underground station! Ain't digital technology a gem?

I miss my swing-out screen, but this camera is much better than my old one. Nice work getting this cool POV, Clive!

I love modern technology. My camera doesn't have a flip out screen and so I have to get into uncompromising positions, which usually results in great shots and bemused looks from people passing by. I love the low angle perspective here. Everybody looks so tall! The colors are deliciously intense and I suspect that a lower angle perspective heightens the feeling of enclosure, and that feeling of enclosure is so well captured here. I love the human focus as well. Quite nice. I like this a lot.
