A very inspiring 2010 photo of mines. I see this photo and it makes me smile all the time. I can't help it. This image means the world to me. I was feeling uninspired and I didn't really want to take photos that much. A random photographer contacted me and invited me to a photographer meet and greet. I said "oh, sure, what the hell" and I went. I was expecting people to show off their lenses and say how better they were to me. ... But when I got there, I got none of that. INSTEAD, I saw photographers who were welcoming, kind, understanding, and were open to the way I took photographs. I showed them my work, and some of them got angry at me. Why? Because they asked me, why was I taking stellar photos, yet I am putting myself down? They immediately demanded me to stop doing that. It was good because I felt like myself. I felt like I could be myself around them. And so, I did. I saw this glass that another photographer was drinking from while showing us his work, and I wanted to take a photo of it as a reminder that from that point on, I will never put myself down again. And so, I took the shot. And now, I feel great.
