Description

Argusianus argus. Male. When I first saw this bird, I thought, "Whoa! What kind of bird is THAT?" These birds are so amazing, especially when you are right next to them. They are said to be pheasants, but they remind me more of peacocks, and they spread their tails like peacocks. Instead of brightly colored feathers with a single eye, their tail feathers are mostly grays and browns, and have a row of eyes, like the ones you see on the side of the bird in this photo. So you have all these rows of eyes radiating out from the center. A bird of Malaysia.
