BIO
Because we value our privacy at home, I'm not going to say too much here about my personal life. Those that know me, already know probably too much about me. :) I am a programmer by trade and work for a company in Washington DC (even though I live in Florida). I've been programming almost as long (if not longer) than I've been doing art.
In 1988 or so, I started drawing on the C-64 which only had 64 colors (of which only 4 could be used in a certain place). There was a program called Koala Paint that I used to draw simple images with. I dreamed then of getting a 24 bit board I saw in the magazines, even though it was $2400 and I didn't even know what computer they were for. Then I got the Amiga and DCTV. Millions of colors! Yeah! Though it had troubles, it was still awesome to work with and I have found few paint programs that work as well as that one did, though Painter is pretty close. Then I finally got the elusive 24 bit computer (the IBM compatible) and I was on my way, though I still miss the old days of Deluxe Paint and DCTV.
I work in 2D and 3D with an emphasis on 2D. My work includes celebrity portraits, down home scenes, and fantasy. I also lean more toward family art so that I can show the kids, not because I have anything against the more adult works. My mediums include Poser, Bryce/Vue, Painter and Photoshop with a touch of LW (still learning on that one).
Thanks so much for viewing this page and I hope you will enjoy my work. On behalf of the whole family, have a great day...

Beautiful work. Her eyes sparkle with love of life!

beautiful portrait..and does rival a poser image..but beter in quality as it comes from within the heart..I abor tracing..if it isnt ones own work..the faces look cold and hard like dog women..I can tell this is not traced..the expression is full of joy and radiance..not frozen..a fine and beautiful work of art..
Judgedeth
one of the truly beutiful women in the world today. and you caught her heart and revealed it in paint. an excellent work.

Ah yes Shadow - another great portraiture. The eyes in this one are super realistic, and the shading is exemplary. What I have always admired about your work is your ability to start from a blank 3D canvas, and using only a few photos beside you, turn out a painting that rivals a Poser image. I likely don't recognize this young lady either should she be a movie or TV star..but you have done an excellent job on painting her. Bravo my friend!

Excellent work Shadow! It looks just like her. I love that show! I wish I could figure out how you do this. I do well with pencil, but can't seem to get the knack of using my tablet to do color portraits. Amazing color, shadowing and detail.

The image seems a little flat, I think its the hair (at the bottom) and parts of the face. I don't want to be too critical of t his image, because its far better than anything I could come up with in freehand. The color and strokes are wonderful, and the mouth is dead on perfect. YOu have loads of talent.
DutchSky
Yes indeed, the mouth is wonderfully drawn. It's so difficult to draw a laughing mouth and let it look natural. You managed to do it! You also manage to make such wonderful realistic skincolours. You know you could make a career of it?
ShadowWind
Thanks Ryyme. I made some modifications that I hope will fix some of the flatness...

Holistic! Evangelical! <<The widow's peak hits me immediately. The work done in Poser with transparency maps to give hair follicles and strands to that area is noted. Then I realize what it is the forehead is not tall enough. The whole "wig" should tilt up and back. Now this based on someone who knew just how much uplift to give to the hair to avoid the "surfer look" or ironed hair.>> Blink!! out of the 60's and back to 2002. A really endearing and complete image.
