Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

OMG, what hath God (Apple Corporation, in this case) wrought? Although a most bizarre creature, you have pushed the envelope of fun to new heights with this spectacular image, Andrea.

I love this drawing of your little runner speeding across my screen. A marvellous way to play and more natural than with the mouse.

Looks great Andrea. Its an easy program to learn the basics on. I've been playing with it for a couple of weeks now. Finally got the hang of shading.

I think you are on of only some people they use the pad in a creative way. I by myself don't like that pads but when I see your creations I will maybe think about using it too sometimes :)

yeah, new techniques can pose some pretty frightening possibilities to anyone experienced in art, but whether you're new to this finger technique or not, it's got you all over it. (Can't keep that out, even with a finger on an iPad-screen.) Love the segmented joints, and the peaks & ruffles in the clothes; love the chicken-look of the head & 'mane' (can you see my city roots? I don't even know what the top of a chicken/hen's head is called); love the determined gait & movement of the arms; and the feet & hands are pure you where hands & feet are concerned---ie, caricatured lovingly and hysterically, and big & bulbous & fun. Just great. Wanted to comment on this since it went up, finally got around to doing it. Terrific. (I don't know if I ever sent you my "Andrea Feet" drawing: I did it for Koosie, and he laughed. Though he said yours were "much more like Andrea Feet," lol. (He was right.) If I can dig up the drawing, maybe I'll post it---with the caveat that if anyone laughs at me, I'll sue them.) (How's that for a thick skin...) (They look so easy, but after 20 tries I finally gave up...)
