The business district of Montreal
Ville-Marie is the name of a borough (arrondissement) in the centre of the city of Montreal, Quebec.
The borough comprises all of downtown Montreal, Old Montreal and the Old Port, the Centre-Sud area, most of Mount Royal Park, Saint Helen's Island, and Île Notre-Dame.
It is bordered by the city of Westmount (along Atwater Street) to the west and the boroughs of Le Sud-Ouest (along the Ville-Marie Autoroute, Guy and Notre-Dame streets, and the Bonaventure Autoroute) to the southwest, Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (along the CP rail lines) to the east, Le Plateau-Mont-Royal (along Sherbrooke, University streets, and Pine and Park avenues) to the northeast, and Outremont and Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (along the border of Mount Royal Park) to the north. It is bounded on the south by the Saint Lawrence River.

Le quartier des affaires de Montréal
Ville-Marie
Le nom Ville-Marie, le nom original de la colonie fondée en 1642 qui deviendra Montréal, provient de la notion de ville mariale. Plusieurs villes sont ainsi dédiées à ce personnage biblique, à l'image de Lourdes. Les sulpiciens, qui ont fondé et gouverné Montréal, sont de grands dévôts de Marie. La vocation mariale de la ville a été conçue d'avance par Jérôme Le Royer, sieur de La Dauversière.
L'arrondissement de Ville-Marie occupe la partie centrale de la ville de Montréal, entre le mont Royal et le fleuve Saint-Laurent. Il est entouré par les arrondissements de Westmount au sud-ouest, par les arrondissements de Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Outremont et Le Plateau-Mont-Royal à l'ouest, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve au nord, et Le Sud-Ouest au sud. Il comprend également les îles Sainte-Hélène et Notre-Dame (EXPO 67') dans le fleuve.

And I think I know where you were standing to get that photo. The contrasts are interesting - gray concrete below, the multi-colored building to the left and the steel and glass buildings. The camera angle brings out the angled surfaces on the buildings. Nice job. Keep it up! :-)
