Come here, damned Imp!
Suffering/learning/playing and trying to sink my teeth into Octane, Daz Studio, and Photoshop.

I like the atmospheric effects. I am not loving the corset distortion (real corsets don't do that), but that's the product's fault and nothing can be done about it in DS. I love the deep shadows in the tree. But I am somewhat confused about the yellow glow behind it. I have some questions, though: -- Why Octane and DS? -- What is the tree? -- How did the render look straight out of the renderer?

Looks like a good job with those programs. I like the atmosphere. She is also well posed. That's something I always had trouble with.

Thanks Antaran -- I didn't know that about corsets - must be like wearing armor! The yellow glow behind it was PS mistake on my part. It is brass material wall and I tried to blur to hide an ugly edge, but in doing so, the eye doesn't read it as a wall any longer. Workflow... DS lets me easily set up a scene and then create an obj file export. In Octane I set up the lighting and in about 20 minutes I have have a pretty cool render. Octane is a GPU (NVIDIA CUDA) un-biased, physically based renderer. I was able to buy it for around 50 dollars when it first came out around a year ago. I think it goes for around 100 now but am not sure. It's like Luxrender, but much faster. But it does have its issues - the main ones are it is limited to your graphics card memory, and it can only carry so many textures. The tree is xfrog broadleaved paperbark. In PS I added fog and did some overlay and grunge work to make the textures a little rougher and highlight the girl, in my opinion, most of what you see is Octane.

Hey, nice job ! great idea, as always in your images. With a little more 'tweaking' on materials, it will be perfect. The render seems a little bit 'grainy' too, You could let it 'cook' a little longer ... Excellent result anyway.

Nicely done scene, details and perspective and the clothes look good despite the corset issue (which I wouln't have known about but for Antaran). Nice dreamy feel. Only thing is I would like to see more emotion in the character's face besides the open mouth - e.g. more, subtle signs of annoyance at the imp etc. The graininess also an issue prob due to not letting the render continue long enough? It helps the dreamy effect, but would detract from final quality of a fully finished work? (I know i'm always impatient to get my scenes uploaded to show people and sometimes stop a render before its at its best - my computer being rather slow at the best of times).
