Description
Levon Helm co-founder of The Band, 71... Rest In Peace.
Gone but never forgotten, The Band influenced so many great musicians, it would take an entire book to list all of the names. Levon's gritty tones, filled with honest emotion, could bring tears to the eyes of any audience.
If you've never listened, I would suggest finding a copy of The Last Waltz, the swansong for The Band, produced by band member Robbie Robertson in the late 70's.
here's a taste: please take a moment to check out the link.

Another one gone, so sad to hear but nobody get's out alive. The Band was so under rated to and their influence was alot more than most people realize, me thinks. Nice tribute, I guess this takes the weight off of him afterall.

Sad day for The Band. And for us old Music Lovers as well. Great image. Very Fitting.

Splendid tribute man The Band, the only word fitting is Legendary and the man behind the Drums, Levon Helm deserves the Moniker also. Winterlands 76 Thanksgiving day farewell concert by The Band still ranks as arguably the Greatest lineup of talent and best Live Performance ever recorded. Paul Butterfield, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, Bobby Charles and Neil Young and The Band RIP Levon, "The Weight" is off now Brother Peace

Oooooh, Levon's gone? Rest in peace, man. Isn't that all of the main guys now except Robbie? I loved the Band and Levon's voice - so many wonderful songs. They actually weren't that 'under-rated' - at least by the music industry itself. They are in both the American and Canadian Rock and Roll Halls of Fame. They received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys and are 50th in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. "Up On Cripple Creek" - favorite Band song. A nice dedication Seth - thanks for this.

I think "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is my favorite Band song. Your picture is a beautiful and powerful tribute to Levon Helm. It is sad he is gone, but at least his death was peaceful and he left us his legacy in song. R.I.P. Levon Helm.

The band were incredible for sure, Up on Cripple Creek and The Night are total iconic songs of the era. It brings a shiver to my soul just thinking of the words to both those songs.
