Description
This piece is the improved one. I have changed specularity and glossiness to a higher level and switched on reflections. So this render took about 42 hours on a P3 / 1,3 GHz --- incredible, eh?
Original image size 1500 x 2000.
Thanks for viewing! :o)

Gotta know about that wire mesh....Is it a texture, bump map, or is it geometry. Whatever it is, it looks real good. You may want to work on the metalness of the microhpone though. The spec and reflection just aren't sharp enough from pictures that I have seen.

i actually have a few of these types of mics in my studio. you did a great job, but i have to agree with yucka. the specularities just seem a little to soft. try boosting the gloss a bit.

I don't know anything about this kind of microphone but I know I like THIS one. Another amazing illustration. Thanks for sharing!

umm, 42 hrs? why the hell does it take that long? did something like that with a figure with HDRI and it took 9 hrs on a celeron 450...but 42 hrs on a p3 1.3 gig??? parhapps LW renderer is a bit slower then max? looks great anyway :)

You've certainly got a consummate talent, Stefan. This is a most delicate, fantastically detailed and very lifelike (only except the "Lightwave Microphone by SMS" script) job! Two thumbs up!
