Description
Love this shot, captured 4/5/12, at the semi beautiful El Dorado Nature Center in beautiful Long Beach, California.
ZOOM worthy.
Caught this lady just as she left the two-mile trail after her walk. With that apparel, she was a lot more colorful than anyone or anything else in the Nature Center. The white mask, worn to prevent the inhaling (or exhaling) of germs, dust, pollen, etc., is a common feature among individuals of the Asian persuasion.
I didn't ask her permission for the picture because that would have ruined my reputation and record as a ninja photographer.
Sayonara, thankx for popping in, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Womderful photo of her Harry, and great eye to notice those patriotic colors

She is colourful, isn't she? And I wonder if those masks really do much good? There's the question of pore size of the fabric, cleanliness of the fabric to start with, and the fit of the mask...I guess any kind of barrier is better than no barrier at all, but I really hate the feel of wearing a mask (which I have had to do all too often in my workplace). Great ninja capture, Harry!

A two mile walk around a nature center sounds good to me. Love the trees in the back, look a lot like Bamboo.

Fantastic capture. I can imagine that such a mask makes breathing more difficult. This is certainly not advantageous at sports.

I wonder if she actually realises that she looks like a total idiot! And pollen and the like she is avoiding are NATURAL and she won't die! And the pollution she is avoiding is man made and if she wants to help make LESS, try getting her Government from the Country she actually comes from, to make LESS! But, the two mile walk is a fine idea.. Depending where you are living or where you go, you could see allot.. Interesting shot of a nutter Harry.. LOL Rob

A weird and strange apparition to see, so very foreign and scary to us here in the Southern hemisphere ... but what a catch for you Harry, bravo! BB

A great shot Harry and I am very happy to hear that your high ranking reputation as a Ninja photographer is intact.

Out with nature, but blocking your body from it. Doesn't seem to add up to me. I see people out here sometime wearing them when they mow their lawns and I guess if you have very strong allergies they help. Nice shot. I think unplanned shots like this are the best, if you ask someone first its not going to be a natural pose. You just take the chance of being punched out by some jealous husband or someone. :)

Each to their own...lol

well, having perused the shots from today to this upload, I'm proud to say I've covered everything in between. (I'm pretty sure---I remember commenting on nearly everything, and I checked the ones I wasn't sure of.) This was a most unusual shot from the start, because she seems totally immersed in walking, making the mask seem so out of place; because she's totally---as you say---red, white and blue, with the white being the mask, which really stands out; because she's walking with real determination; and because she doesn't seem phased by that mask at all. A real contrast of qualities, and a fun and really interesting shot. Not fun as in there's anything wrong with the lady---not at all---but fun in the sense that we all look odd at one time or another, doing what we do. She's totally into her walk, and yet she's wearing a mask as if there were a plague running around. Fine capture. And she's dressed pretty warmly for April, I'd think...I always picture LA to be getting fairly warm in April...
